On behalf of the Taiwan Association for the Study of Intestinal Disease (TASID), it is my great honor and sincere pleasure to welcome you to the 1st International Forum of Intestinal Medicine, to be held in 23-24 May 2026 in Taiwan. This inaugural international forum marks an important milestone for our association and reflects our strong commitment to global collaboration, academic excellence, and clinical innovation in the field of intestinal medicine.
The theme of this forum focuses on advances in the treatment of intestinal diseases, with particular emphasis on rapidly evolving domains including the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gut microbiota research and its clinical applications, and the latest developments in endoscopic and interventional therapies. These areas represent not only scientific frontiers, but also real-world challenges that directly impact patient outcomes and quality of life.
In recent years, the management of intestinal diseases has undergone profound transformation. From precision medicine and biologic therapies in IBD, to microbiome-based diagnostics and therapeutics, and to minimally invasive endoscopic interventions that redefine the boundaries between medicine and surgery, our field is advancing at an unprecedented pace. This forum is designed as a multidisciplinary platform where clinicians, researchers, and industry partners can exchange knowledge, share experiences, and explore future directions together.
Taiwan has long been recognized for its high-quality healthcare system, strong academic foundation, and growing contributions to gastrointestinal research. Through this forum, we hope to foster meaningful international partnerships, inspire young professionals, and translate cutting-edge science into better care for patients worldwide.
I warmly invite you to join us in Taiwan for this landmark event. Let us learn from one another, build lasting collaborations, and work together to shape the future of intestinal medicine.
